Green Flag — Clay Stop-Motion AI Matcha Ad
A portrait, clay stop-motion AI ad for a ceremonial matcha brand with a witty, confident personality — produced end-to-end inside a node-based AI workflow, with no traditional post-production.
My role
Tools
Green Flag is a ceremonial matcha brand with a big personality on a small savvy. The brief split into two halves: on one side a classic, warm, slightly vanilla-cream brand world; on the other, a litany of quality claims — batch-screened matcha, QR results, nitrogen-flushed 30g tins, refill pouches — the kind of transparency a discerning audience actually reads.
The ad needed to turn watchers into buyers in under thirty seconds. So it opens on a cliffhanger, lets a little drippings and smiles land, and gives the product and its pinch-smoked barista the room to carry the punchline.
Every frame is generated, not filmed. A single clay stop-motion aesthetic runs straight through the film — handled entirely in an AI node graph, from the first keyframe to the final frame.
01 · The Film
The final ad, in full
The 26s portrait film, shown without cuts — the clay world, the character, and the punchline landing on a tin of matcha.

02 · The Frames
Storyboard as moving pictures
A fast, spread keyframe sequence that becomes the cut — same clay fingerprint, same lighting, all born from the node graph.

03 · The Clay Look
Handmade, pixel-perfect
The macro close-ups are where the clay world feels real — text chatter, fingerprint dints, material that reads yummy enough to scoop.

04 · The Moodboard
Direction before generation
The brand came first — a moodboard that locked the vanilla-cream palette, the ceramic textures and the confident voice of Green Flag before a single frame was generated.

05 · The Iterations
Reprompts that read like a writer’s room
Every big beat earned a pass in the playground — mood, lighting and motion refined until the punchline landed. A faster, friendlier way to “review the cut”.
